Caroline HardmanCaroline Hardman grew up in south Manchester and was educated at the University of Leeds, gaining a first-class honours degree and an MA in English Literature. After a short time working for Waterstone’s she joined The Marsh Agency in 2004 as Rights Assistant. After three years learning about all aspects of the business she is now an agent and has started to develop her own list of authors. She is responsible for handling UK rights on behalf of The Axelrod Agency (US) and the Helen Heller Agency (Canada) and works with Paul Marsh and Camilla Ferrier selling translation rights in the following territories: Brazil, France, Greece, Korea, Portugal, Romania, Scandinavia, Spain, and Turkey. She is responsible for negotiating UK and US contracts and managing the website. Caroline likes up-market commercial fiction; it can be light and humourous, or dark and edgy, but it should be well-written and plot-driven. In non-fiction she is interested in popular culture and current affairs, with a particular emphasis on food and the environment. She is not interested in science fiction, fantasy, military thrillers, or anything spiritual or religious. |
